Dermal FillersDermal fillers can help restore our youthful appearance and tackle sagging skin to prevent facial structures starting to drop. Collagen, which is found in the network of your skin, acts like scaffolding for the face. As we age, this starts to break down. Fillers simply replace that lost collagen lifting the flatter areas and refreshes your look. Dermal Fillers are a popular treatment option for adding volume into the areas of the face that may be starting to show the effects of gravity, or the loss of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid within the skin. This is a normal part of ageing but we do not have to accept it. Dermal Fillers can be injected into various areas of your face dependant on the outcome. You may choose to get dermal fillers to: Add volume to sagging skin. Make your facial features more symmetrical. Plump up lips and cheeks. Smooth wrinkles and creases in your face. Fillers are not permanent. How long they last depends on a range of factors including the type of filler, where it's injected and each clients lifestyle/genetics etc. They usually last between 6 and 18 months. The filler type is chosen specifically for the area it is needed. TEOSYAL RHA® 1, TEOSYAL RHA® 2, TEOSYAL RHA® 3, TEOSYAL RHA® 4, TEOSYAL PURESENSE KISS®, and TEOSYAL® PURESENSE ULTRA DEEP are a gel that contains hyaluronic acid, and 0.3% by weight of lidocaine hydrochloride. if you would like to read more about the filler we use at Hidden Beauty CLICK HERE. You can upgrade to Meshfill Meshfill is a thread and filler combination, the world’s first 16-fold lattice-shaped soft thread that lies like a net in the tissue and achieves maximum effect through simultaneous treatment with hyaluronic acid. By adding very little filling from this gap when necessary, we can ensure that the treated area gains volume. Applying the filler within the PDO Thread allows the filler to stay completely where it is placed without the chance of migration. Suitable for: Jaw definition, zygomatic augmentation, glabella folds, sagging jowls, nasolabial folds, and marionettes. Anti-Wrinkle InjectionsAnti-wrinkle injections are used to reduce the movement of facial muscles. This helps your skin look smoother and tighter. This allows the skin to smooth out, giving it a fresher look. The treatment lasts 3-6 months depending on each individual. Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used for treating medical conditions, such as – excessive armpit sweating (Hyperhidrosis), teeth grinding (Bruxism)and headaches (Migraines). A consultation is required initially in a face to face assessment. This will be where we review your past medical history to ensure you are suitable and safe for the treatment. Any questions you have will be answered. If you have had previous treatments in other clinics, we’ll discuss your experience and results, both good and bad. This helps us understand your face better to tailor a bespoke treatment that will be perfect for you. We use microfine needles to reduce any discomfort. There is a possibility of there being small bumps where the product has been injected but these usually clear within 10 minutes. We advise no exercise for 24 hours No lying down for 4 hours. There is a chance of a bruise with these fine needles. If this occurs the bruising should clear in 3-5 days. On completion of treatment you will be booked in for a review appointment 2 weeks later. We want to avoid the frozen look and aim to give you a subtle natural outcome We’re very good with first-timers offering in much lower doses to ensure you are comfortable with the treatment and gentle changes. We always offer a free 2-week review where we can top-up the treatment if needed once we have assessed your body’s responsiveness. When treating the upper face the issues they aim to improve are lines in the following areas; Crow's feet - the areas around the outside of the eyes caused during smiling and squinting Forehead - formed when we raise our eyebrows Glabellar "frown lines" - the area between the eyebrows caused during frowning Nose "Bunny lines"- lines at the sides of the nose caused during facial expressions Peri-oral lines: lines around the mouth often referred to as smoker lines Your treatment can include/consist of 3 parts; • Consultation for product • Administration of product by me • Treatment review carried out by me (this might not include any treatment, this is NOT a “top- up” - this is to review your treatment as the product can take up to 2 weeks to work) - not everyone will need or want this part of the treatment plan. All aesthetic treatments require a consultation, this is to provide a comfortable and safe space, where the intention is to help you by: understanding the problem you would like to solve suggesting the best treatment plan for you giving you the information you need so you can make an informed decision providing pricing alternatives where required

Types of AcneNon-inflammatory Acne: Blackheads and whiteheads (aka open and closed comedones) occur when a plug made up of sebum and dead skin cells can be seen inside a follicle (pore), but does not cause any inflammation or redness. Blackheads: If the plug enlarges and stretches the pore, it is referred to as a blackhead. Blackheads aren’t trapped dirt. Rather, the dark color is a build-up of melanin and oxidized oil. Whiteheads: When a thin cover of skin traps the plug, it prevents the oil from oxidizing. This keeps it white and creates a whitehead. Inflammatory Acne: When follicles are blocked by sebum and skin cells, the follicular wall is under pressure. If the pressure is great enough, then the follicle wall will break and the contents will spread into the surrounding skin. When your immune system responds to this bacteria and sebum, inflammatory acne occurs. The degree of inflammation determines the size and redness of an acne lesion. Papules: Pink or red bumps without a white or yellow centre. Pustules: Red bumps with a white or yellow centre of pus. Pustules are formed when the plug inside a pore traps oil and bacteria, which draws white blood cells to the area to fight infection. Pus is made up of dead white blood cells. Cysts and nodules: Larger (and often painful) acne lesions that extend into the deeper skin layers. Cysts and nodules can last for months, destroy the follicle and lead to permanent scars. Individuals with this type of acne should see a dermatologist for treatment.

What is it and what causes it?Acne is the most common skin disorder. Almost 85% of all people develop acne at some point in their lives. Acne is a skin condition that consists of comedones, papules, pustules, and cysts. Acne most commonly develops on areas of the body that contain a lot of sebaceous glands (oil) glands like the face, neck, chest, back, and shoulders. Acne usually begins (and is most common) at puberty, but many adults also develop the condition. Acne is caused by three major factors: 1) Blockage of hair follicles (pores), where sebum (oil) is produced, by dead skin cells 2) Overproduction of sebum 3) Proliferation of P. acnes bacteria and consequent inflammation.

You’re left with a clean, clear, healthy environment for cells to thrive and function at an optimal level. What is acne scarring and what causes it?Acne scars are a frequent outcome for people who suffer from acne. Scars happen because your body is trying to repair the acne. How your unique body responds to a wound determines if and how much scarring you’ll have. The process of repair includes the creation of collagen. If there’s too much collagen then the raised scars appear. Other scarring is caused by the loss of tissue, which creates pits or indentations in the skin. Types of acne scars can be classified as atrophic or hypertrophic or as pigment changes. The most common type of acne scars are: Icepick acne scarring: Scars are the most frequent and represent 70% of atrophic types of acne scars. Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation acne scarring: Brown marks on the skin which occur after erythema, called post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Post inflammatory erythema acne scarring: Pink or purple marks on the skin from previous breakouts

-

What is cellulite and what causes it?The cause of cellulite is debated, but it appears to result from an interaction between connective tissue and the fatty layer that lies just beneath it. When there's a buildup of fat, the fat cells grow larger and produce more fat cells, which bulge around the connective tissue and protrude into the top layer of the skin, giving the appearance of cellulite. Women are more likely to have cellulite than men, this is due to their arrangement of fat cells and connective tissue. Women's fat cells and connective tissue are arranged vertically, whereas in men those tissues have a criss-cross structure, meaning they are less likely to experience the visible results of protruding fat cells (cellulite).

Dry vs. Dehydrated SkinDehydrated skin is sometimes discussed with having the same meaning as dry skin. However, these are two different issues.. Dehydrated skin lacks water, dry skin lacks natural oils. Also, dry skin is a skin type, while dehydration is considered a condition. Skin types are classified as normal, dry, combination, and oily. You’re usually born with one type of skin, but it can change with age and also season. When you have dry skin, your sebaceous glands don’t produce enough natural oils. Your skin usually needs help with added hydration via an emollient cream to protect from further moisture loss. Dry skin may also be caused by underlying health conditions, such as hypothyroidism. Hormonal conditions such as these don’t cause dehydrated skin. Signs of dry skin include: scaly skin white flakes redness irritation Dry skin is sometimes associated with skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, and even post-acne breakouts. These are not the same as having this dry skin type, nor are they the same as dehydrated skin. At its definition, dehydration means that your body is losing more water than it’s taking in. Apart from not drinking enough water, this can be related to increased urination from caffeine or diuretics. It may also occur from lots of sweating from exercise. Unlike dry skin, dehydration can cause the following symptoms: itchiness dullness darker under-eye circles sunken eyes “shadows” around the face (especially under the eyes and around your nose) increased incidence or appearance of fine lines and surface wrinkles
-
What is dry/dehydrated skin?Dehydrated skin means that your skin is lacking water. It can be dry, itchy and perhaps dull looking. Your overall complexion may appear uneven, and fine lines are more noticeable. While dehydrated skin can be a nuisance, it’s relatively easy to treat with the right lifestyle changes. There are also treatments that Hidden Beauty offer that can help treat your skin. Dehydrated skin can appear dry, but it’s not the same has having a dry skin type. Severe dehydration and dry skin should be addressed with a doctor.

What are blackheads and what causes them? The technical name for a blackhead is an open comedone that can appear as an open blackhead or a closed whitehead on the T-zone, back, chest and arms. Blackheads occur when a hair follicle becomes filled with oil and bacteria and the debris turns black due to oxidation. Although this is different to having a clogged pore, even though the two skin issues look similar, they should be treated differently. Clogged pores, which are also called sebaceous filaments, form when the oils that line the pore build up, making it appear wider than usual. Blackheads are caused by a buildup of bacteria and excess oil that irritates the hair follicle and increases oil production.

CausesAs you age, the tissue structures and muscles supporting your eyelids weaken. The skin may start to sag, and fat that is normally confined to the area around the eye (orbit) can move into the area below your eyes. Also, the space below your eyes can accumulate fluid, making the under-eye area appear puffy or swollen. Several factors cause or worsen this effect, including: Fluid retention, especially upon waking or after a salty meal Lack of sleep Allergies Smoking Heredity — under-eye bags can run in families build up of fats and fluids that settle under and above the eyes.
-
What treatments we recommendMesotherapy Injections Dermal Filler Fibroblast Microneedling
-
What are eye bags/tired eyes?Bags under eyes — mild swelling or puffiness under the eyes — are common as you age. With aging, the tissues around your eyes, including some of the muscles supporting your eyelids, weaken. Normal fat that helps support the eyes can then move into the lower eyelids, causing the lids to appear puffy. Fluid also may accumulate in the space below your eyes, adding to the swelling. Bags under eyes are usually a cosmetic concern and rarely a sign of a serious underlying medical condition. At-home remedies, such as cool compresses, can help improve the appearance of bags under eyes. For persistent or bothersome under-eye puffiness, eyelid surgery may be an option however here at Hidden Beauty we can offer non invasive alternatives.

What are moles?Moles are growths on the skin that are usually brown or black. Moles can appear anywhere on the skin, alone or in groups. Most moles appear in early childhood and during the first 25 years of a person's life. It is normal to have between 10-40 moles by adulthood. As the years pass, moles usually change slowly, becoming raised and/or changing color. Sometimes, hairs develop in the mole. Some moles may not change at all, while others may slowly disappear over time.
-
CausesMoles occur when cells in the skin grow in a cluster instead of being spread throughout the skin. These cells are called melanocytes, and they make the pigment that gives skin its natural colour. Moles may darken after exposure to the sun, during the teen years, and during pregnancy.
-
How are they treatedIf a dermatologist believes a mole needs to be evaluated further, they will do a biopsy by shaving or cutting out the entire spot so that it can be evaluated under the microscope. This is a simple procedure. (If the dermatologist thinks the mole might be cancerous, cutting through the mole will not cause the cancer to spread.) If the mole is found to be cancerous, the dermatologist will cut out the entire mole or scar from the biopsy site by cutting out the entire area and a rim of normal skin around it, and stitching the wound closed.

CausesMilia are caused by the build-up of keratin (a naturally occurring protein) beneath the surface of the skin. Cell turnover usually slows down as we get older, making mature skin more susceptible to recurring milia.

-
What treatments we recommendAdvanced Electrolysis Needle extraction: Once the skin with milia has been cleaned, a sterile needle is used to create a tiny incision and the contents of the milia are carefully extracted.
-
What are milia?Milia are small white or yellowish raised cysts, bumps or spots on the skin. They are normally found around the eye area and cheeks, but can appear anywhere on the face or body. Milia feel quite hard, almost like a small piece of grit under the skin, and do not have any redness or inflammation.

CausesOver time—and with exposure to UV rays and pollution—collagen and elastin in the skin may become damaged which causes skin to gradually lose its firmness and elasticity. As this happens, fine lines can form that may eventually turn into deep-set lines and wrinkles. Skin often becomes dry or dehydrated with age which can also cause lines to appear more visible. While there are some steps you can take to help prevent early signs of aging, fine lines and wrinkles ultimately happen to every skin type. Whether your skin is oily, dry, or acne-prone, you will begin to see wrinkles at some point in your life. Even though age is a key factor in causing lines and wrinkles, there are external aggressors that can have a major impact on your skin’s appearance. UV Rays Sun damage is the most common cause of skin damage and wrinkles. In addition to leading to lines and wrinkles, the sun can also contribute to other visible signs of aging like dark spots.II Using a daily SPF with broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection is the most important step you can take to help defend skin from early signs of aging. Pollution If you live in a city or are regularly exposed to high levels of pollution, your skin can experience damage. Free radicals in exhaust, fumes and smoke can cause damage which can lead to visible signs of aging. Look for formulas with pollution protection to help defend skin from these external aggressors.
-
What are the best skincare ingredients for fine lines and wrinkles? For younger-looking skin, look for formulas with potent ingredients to help visibly smooth and plump. Some of the most trusted anti-aging skincare ingredients are: Vitamin C Vitamin C is a trusted ingredient known to help improve fine lines and wrinkles and smooth skin’s texture. Within skincare formulas, Vitamin C is also known to help boost radiance and provide antioxidant protection. Retinol and Pro-Retinol Retinol and Pro-Retinol are derivatives of Vitamin A known to help visibly reduce fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of aging. Hyaluronic Acid Known to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, Hyaluronic Acid is used in formulas to help smooth and plump skin.

What treatments we recommendYou have a choice of surgical treatment (cut away excess skin on lid – blethoplasty) or non surgical (Fibroblast plasma pen to burn away excess skin on the lid). As Hidden Beauty is a non surgical clinic, we offer Fibroblast plasma pen treatment) which is an excellent hooded eye treatment. It removes and tightens skin on the upper eyelid, giving an effective non-surgical eye lift without the need for hooded eye surgery.
-
What are hooded eyelids and what causes it?‘Hooded eyelids’ are a common facial characteristic marked by the presence of excess skin, on one or both the eyes, just under the eyebrows. The extra skin can be observed folding downwards from the brow bone towards the lash line. The eyes tend to appear smaller than normal due to this. Some patients may also find it hard to apply makeup, like eye shadow, etc. The shape of your eyes and eyelids is one of the many identifiable genetic facial features just like attached earlobes or hair colour. The condition tends to become more distinct with increasing age. Genetics - Hooded eyes or potential to develop hooded eyes tend to be a generic trait, normally if one or both parents have hooded eyes you are at increased risk of developing this characteristic. Age - as we age our skin looses its elasticity and becomes more lax which leads to the appearance of excess skin on the eyelid. With age our eyebrow position tends to decrease which can create hooded eyes or make existing hooded eyes appear more obvious. Medical / iatrogenic causes - Wrongly administered Botox injections can drop the eye brow and give the impression of hooded eyes. In rare cases medical conditions can give the impression of hooded eyes, this is in fact a droppy eyelid which is known as a ptosis and requires investigation by your GP.

CausesLoss of elastin and collagen Over time, the skin in your cheeks and below your jawline loses much of its collagen and elastin. Collagen is a protein that makes up the connective tissue in your body. Elastin is another connective tissue protein that lets your skin return to its normal shape even after being stretched. As these proteins are lost, the cheek skin surrounding your mouth loses its firmness and tightness. Once this happens, gravity causes it to sag and descend to the area on either side of your mouth and chin. Genetics Your genetics can also determine whether or not you develop jowls and how noticeable they become over time. If either of your parents have jowls, you’re more likely to develop them. If you naturally have thin skin or limited amounts of collagen and elastin in your skin, you may start to notice jowls early in life. It’s possible to develop jowls as early as your teens or twenties. Environmental and lifestyle factors Other causes of jowls either come from your environment or result from your lifestyle choices. These include: Facial expressions, weight loss, sun exposure, smoking & using a computer or looking down at a smartphone for long periods of time.
-
What are jowls? The term “jowls” is often used to describe sagging skin below your chin or jawline. Almost everyone develops jowls as they age. It happens because your skin becomes thinner and less elastic over time. Jowls may be less pronounced in people who have thicker skin, more fat, or more collagen in the area below the cheeks and chin. Some people may never develop jowls because of their genes, environmental factors, and lifestyle choices. Keep reading to learn more about why jowls develop, how you can reduce your chances of developing them, and what you can do to minimize their appearance.

What causes the menopause? The menopause is caused by a change in the balance of the body's sex hormones, which occurs as you get older. This happens when your ovaries stop producing as much of the hormone oestrogen and no longer release an egg each month. Premature or early menopause can occur at any age, and in many cases there's no clear cause. The menopause can be brought on when women have to have surgery to remove the ovaries (oophorectomy), some breast cancer treatments, chemotherapy or radiotherapy. It can also be brought on by underlying conditions, such as Down's syndrome or Addison's disease.

What treatments we recommendMoles Most moles don't need treatment and can be removed with advanced electrolysis. Please keep and eye on any changes in shape/size or colour. if you have any concerns please contact your GP. Skin Tags Skin tags can easily be removed with electrolysis or fibro blast. Warts Warts often go away on their own after your immune system fights off the virus. Because warts can spread, cause pain and be unsightly, your doctor may recommend treatment. Options include: Electrolysis
-
What causes these conditions?Moles Moles are caused when cells in the skin (melanocytes) grow in clusters or clumps. Melanocytes are distributed in your skin and produce melanin (the natural pigment that gives your skin its colour) Skin Tags They occur when the body produces extra cells in the skin’s top layers. They tend to form in skin folds and areas where natural movement causes the skin to rub against itself. Skin tags often grow in these areas: Armpits. Eyelids. Groin or thighs. Neck. Under the breasts. Genitals. Warts When the human papillomavirus (HPV) enters a cut in the skin, it causes a skin infection that forms warts. Warts are very contagious. The virus can spread from person to person or from different parts of the body through: Direct contact with a wart. Touching something contaminated with the virus, such as towels, doorknobs and shower floors. Sexual intercourse (genital warts). Nail biting and cuticle picking. Shaving.
-
What are moles, skin tags and warts?Moles Moles are a common type of skin growth and they often appear as small, dark brown spots and are caused by clusters of pigmented cells. Moles generally appear during childhood to adolescence. Most people have 10 to 40 moles, some of which may change in appearance or fade away over time. Most moles are harmless. Rarely, they become cancerous. Monitoring moles and other pigmented patches is an important step in detecting skin cancer, especially malignant melanoma. Skin Tags Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths on your skin. They can vary in colour and size – from a few millimetres up to 5cm wide. Skin tags are usually found on the following areas: neck, armpits, around the groin, or under the breasts. They also grow on eyelids or under the folds of the buttocks. Warts Warts are a type of skin infection caused by the human papillomavirus. The infection causes rough, coloured bumps to form on your skin. The virus is contagious, you can normally get them from touching someone who has them.

The hyperpigmentation process1) Hyperpigmentation triggers eg. inflammation, UV rays, hormones. 2) Melanin production is stimulated within melanocytes. Tyrosinase is one of the key enzymes in this process. 3) Melanin is transferred from melanocytes to skin cells. 4) Skin cells are in a constant state of upward motion to the surface. 5) Skin develops dark spots or patches on the surface or is uniformly darker (as in a tan). Hyperpigmentation can become darker as the skin cells move closer to the surface. This point is important because, with many treatments, hyperpigmentation can darken in appearance before fading.
-
Hyperpigmentation types and triggersUV induced: This type of hyperpigmentation shows in the form of freckles, age spots and uneven skin tone. It is caused by exposure to ultraviolet rays (UVR), whether from the sun or tanning beds. Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH): PIH is found in areas of the skin that have been subjected to inflammation due to trauma, acne or irritation (eg. fragrances or laser side effects). Inflammation stimulates Langerhans cells (immune cells), which alter the activity of melanocytes (skin cells), causing increased pigment production. Melasma (chloasma): Melasma appears as symmetrical patches most often on the cheeks, chin, upper lip and forehead. It can be related to pregnancy, birth control pill, menopause or hormone replacement therapy.
-
What is it and what causes it?Hyperpigmentation is the darkening of the skin, most often caused by an abnormally high amount of skin pigment melanin. Melanin is the pigment that gives the body its natural skin colour. This can occur anywhere on the body but mainly occurs on the face. All skin types can suffer from this harmless condition. Individuals who have greater exposure to the sun are more likely to get pigment spots. There are many different types of pigment spots that can arise due to abnormal activity of melanin-producing cells. The most common varieties are: Sun Spots: Sun spots are commonly known as age spots. They are triggered by overexposure to sunlight. For this reason, those areas of the body which are most affected come in contact with the sun on a daily basis i.e. face, neck, hands, and forearms. These spots appear as small flat patches that are light brown to black in appearance. Normally, these spots appear in people over 50 and younger people, who spend more time in the sun, can also get them. Freckles: Freckles are clusters of concentrated melanocytes which are most apparent in people with a fair complexion. They are quite harmless and become more pronounced when they get exposed to UV rays. Usually, they occur in a younger age group as compared to people who develop age spots. There are two types of freckles which include ephelides and lentigines. Ephelides are slightly tan spots that occur more commonly in red-headed people. Lentigines, on the other hand, are isolated dark spots present at sites of sun damage. Melasma: Melasma is hyperpigmentation where the pigmentation is in the deep dermis (deeper than normal pigmentation caused by sun damage), it mostly occurs in pregnant women or women who have had hormonal changes such as coming on or off the contraceptive pill or other hormonal treatment. Melasma is often called “mask of pregnancy”. The hormonal changes typically produce pigmentation on the face area. Melasma treatment tends to be harder than other forms of pigmentation. Like all type of hyperpigmentation, exposure to sunlight will exacerbate the appearance. Post-inflammatory Hyperpigmentation: This type of hyperpigmentation occurs following some form of injury to the skin. This condition is likely to develop in people after burns. This type of pigmentation is more common in individuals who hold pigment in the skin (type 3,4,5 and 6 Fitzpatrick skin types). It is common to have multiple types of pigmentation and Hidden Beauty we have treatment solutions for each of the above types of pigmentation.
-
What treatments we recommendThe best hyperpigmentation treatment and melasma treatment is dependent on the type of pigmentation you have: Sun Spots / Sun Damage / Freckles If your pigmentation is sun spots / sun damage pigmentation or freckles then the best hyperpigmentation treatment for you is Pigmentation reduction laser - Using laser technologies these dark blemishes can be significantly reduced, leaving you with a brighter, clear and more even complexion. IPL laser treatment is not recommended if you have melasma as it can make the pigmentation worse. can also be used to treat pigmentation if it is mild and also has the added benefit of producing collagen and elastin and reducing pore size. Melasma or Post Inflammatory Pigmentation The best melasma treatment is chemical peels accompanied with specific homecare. Alumier MD is a medical-grade skincare regime that is prescribed by and allows you to transform your skin at home over 16-20 weeks*. Severe Melasma For moderate, severe or treatment resistant melasma we suggest the above and chemical peels.

How does cavitation work?An Ultrasonic Cavitation handpiece makes a sound at a frequency that we cannot hear while it is vibrating. Frequency is measured in Hertz. Humans can hear from 20 hertz to 20,000 hertz. Sound waves with frequency above 20,000 hertz we call Ultrasonic and soundwaves of 1,000,000 hertz is called a Megahertz (MHz) Ultrasonic frequencies of 1MHz to 5 MHz are used for various medical treatments. The lower the megahertz the stronger the treatment. It is highly penetrative and directional. The vibration of ion (positive and negative alternation of sound waves) produces a strong wave of pressure to fat cell membranes. Usually a fat cell membrane cannot withstand this pressure and it will dissolve into its liquid form. This liquid product leaves the body through the normal channels of the body's metabolism.
-
How does radio frequency work?Radio frequency (RF) therapy, also known as radio frequency skin tightening, Its a non surgical, non invasive method of tightening your skin. With the aging process, elastin proteins and collagen productions decrease. which can result in wrinkles and fine lines. as well as a sagging skin. RF sends radio waves to selectively target and heat the deep layer of your skin which stimulates the fibroblast cells to contract and produce new elastin and collagen fibres. RF acts as a vacuum massage which is also clinically proven to decrease the appearance of cellulite. The result is a smoother, younger looking and tighter skin.

-
How does EMS Work?EMS emits high-intensity electromagnetic pulses to force muscular contractions - the equivalent of doing 20,000 crunches in 30 minutes - thus strengthening muscle fibres in a previously impossible amount of time. The fat loss—a 19 percent reduction. Due to the female endocrine system women have a greater tendency for cellulite than men. Cellulite can only develop if oestrogen is present in the body. It evolves when the connecting tissue are no longer able to hold fat cells together and hence it protrudes through the skin. The bigger the fat cells the stronger the cellulite. EMS has various effects on cellulite, it tonifies the connecting tissue, induces blood circulation, activate enzymes and enhances blood circulation. The increase in the number of active muscle fibres can also improve metabolism - even during the first session.

What is Tightening and Loss? This treatment uses 3 different techniques which all have a role in how they help reduce fat and tighten skin. Cavitation to reduce fat cells Radio Frequency to tighten EMS Sculpting

SHRWhat Exactly Is SHR? SHR is 3 times faster and twice as accurate as other hair removal machines and it uses the very latest technology. You will be pleased to learn that this form of hair removal is not only painless, it is the safest option currently available on today’s market. Using the most up-to-date technology, this method proves timely and efficient when carried out by a trained professional. How Does It Work? In essence, SHR treatment is designed to cause long-lasting damage to target hair follicles. This in turn prevents the re-growth of the hair. By gently heating over the required area, the applicator used varies in temperature to ensure maximum effect. Released are short and gentle energy pulses that directly target the hair follicle whilst dissuading return. How Long Will The Actual Treatment Take? Lucky for you, you can pop across on a dinner hour. The treatment itself can take as little as five minutes! If the area is relatively small and this will be reflected in the allocated time. A facial treatment will take on average fifteen minutes with both legs eating into just 30 minutes of your lunch break – ideal! How Many Treatments Will I Need? Depending on the area that requires SHR, we recommend that our clients have 6-10 treatments at four week intervals. Hair reduction treatments at four weekly intervals will ensure that we are able to target the hair at the right time during the natural re-growth cycle. Towards the end of the process, the interval between hair reduction treatments may be extended to 6-8 weeks as the re-growth cycles slow. Is SHR Permanent Hair Removal Suitable For Everyone? SHR is one of the only treatments available offering suitability for all skin types. Remember, this method involves heating and cooling as opposed to follicle exposure via high intensity pulses. This option works extremely well for fair-haired people whilst posing no issues at all during the summer months when tans have developed. The procedure is suitable all-year round. Is It Safe? From the clinical studies undertaken, SHR has been proven to be the safest method of light based hair reduction for all skin types. Melanin found within darker skin is known to be much more sensitive to the heat when used in light based treatments. There are no such issues presented with this option. A patch test is required, to ensure that your skin type is suitable for this treatment We charge £30 for the skin test treatment, £15 of this fee is then deducted off your treatment total. Prices from £25

IPL Hair Removal & ReductionWhat is IPL? IPL is an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) that targets the root of the hair. How Does It Work? The energy emitted heats up the hair follicle until it is disabled. When this happens, the follicle can no longer produce any new hairs. There are three stages of hair growth and it is the ‘anagen’ phase that is targeted by IPL. Approximately 30% of hairs are in this stage at any one time so a course of treatments is required and you will see progressive results with each treatment. How Long Will The Treatment Take? The treatment is fast, effective, and pain-free – with no downtime! How Many Treatments Will I need? A course of treatments is needed to achieve hair reduction. However, the exact number will depend on the area treated as well as individual properties of your hair and skin pigmentation. Your practitioner will carry out a full consultation and provide you with a plan as well as realistic expectations regarding the hair removal results that can be achieved for you. What Are The Results? Hairs do not fall out immediately, but you will shed them over a period of days to weeks. This may look like continued hair growth. The repeated treatments are usually necessary because hair growth and loss naturally occur in a cycle, and laser treatment works best with hair follicles in the new-growth stage. A patch test is required, to ensure that your skin type is suitable for this treatment We charge £30 for the skin test treatment, £15 of this fee is then deducted off your treatment total. Please contact us for prices.

DMK Alkaline WashThe DMK Alkaline Wash system is a remarkable treatment for all areas of the face and body, designed to reduce fine, downy hair. This type of hair is very difficult to remove with other methods as the growth is usually dense and would take a long time to treat with electrolysis. It is also not suitable to be treated with IPL or Laser because it has no colour for the laser to target. Alkaline Wash can remove large areas of hair in one treatment without discomfort, in comparison to other hair-removal systems. It also works well when combined with electrolysis and laser, which are suitable for terminal hairs. After your first treatment, the hair will grow back at its normal rate, but as treatments progress the hair regrowth rate will become slower and the hair will weaken; usually resulting in a permanent loss over a period of time. The treatment is completely pain-free, however in some cases the area can appear red and warm which is normal and will subside after a short period of time. Can I have this treatment if I have acne or am sensitive? Alkaline wash is perfect for removing fine, fluffy hair but also acts as a resurfacing tool. The solution sits on the skin and dissolves the hair gently, without causing any pain or irritation to the skin. It can also gently exfoliate any dead skin sitting on the surface which helps with breakouts. Is it permanent? Over a period of time Alkaline wash will reduce the hair growth enough to what will become a permanent solution. These results are progressive as we need to target the hairs during every phase of the growth cycle. There are always a few exceptions, especially if medications are being taken that may stimulate hair growth. Will it stimulate hair growth? Unlike waxing and shaving, Alkaline wash will not stimulate the growth of new hairs. After your first treatment, the hair will grow back at a normal rate but after further treatments the growth rate is dramatically slowed.

Sterex Permanent Hair RemovalLaser Hair removal has its boundaries, unfortunately, if the hair has no pigment it won't remove it. Likely we have Electrolysis which is a form of permanent reduced hair removal that kills the reproductive hair cell destroying the growth center of the hair with chemical or heat energy, ensuring that the hair does not grow back. Electrologists are trained to place a very fine needle into the hair follicle and deliver a micro-level of electric current to destroy the hair root. The pulse of electricity eliminates the hair follicles' ability to regenerate, thereby preventing any future growth from the follicle. This process must be performed on each individual hair follicle, collectively debilitating hair growth over multiple sessions. There are 3 methods commonly in use: Thermolysis or Radio Frequency (RF) A tiny amount of electrical current is passed and this excites the target structures microscopically, producing heat. The heat destroys the hair germ cell sites and root tissue and releases the hair without resistance Galvanic The introduction of a galvanic current produces a temporary change in chemical composition in the tissue fluid that bathes the hair follicle. Sodium hydroxide or “lye” is produced. Lye is alkaline and destroys the hair structure by mild caustic action. Blend Blend is a mixture of the first and second methods. A tiny amount of heat added to the Galvanic current via RF (see above) speeds up the chemical process resulting in much faster destruction of the hair root than with Galvanic current alone. A course of treatments is required to see results, the amount of treatments needed depends on each individual as hair growth patterns can vary for each person. While your treatment plan will include repetitive sessions to treat the area, the end result is confidence and a body free of unwanted hair. Some clients find that occasional touch up sessions are needed just to maintain and eliminate any specific hairs that weren’t completely treated. You pay for the length of time you are treated with: 15 minutes of Electrolysis hair removal £15.00 It is absolutely vital to follow the treatment plan set out by your practitioner for successful hair removal and results. After a short wave diathermy treatment, your skin may look pink or puffy in more sensitive areas, but this should self-correct with a few hours. Other side effects are uncommon, especially in the hands of an experienced practitioner like myself. Aftercare will be given following the treatment.
-
What is Laser Hair Removal?Laser hair removal treatments use a condensed beam of light to gently heat and intentionally damage the hair follicles, causing the unwanted hairs to fall out. The laser is attracted to the melanin in the hair follicle and so it only affects the hair, leaving the skin undamaged.

E LightWhat is E Light? E Light combines IPL technology with Bipolar Radio Frequency for improved results in a number of aesthetic treatments. What are the advantages of E light? E Light has all the main advantages of light and laser based devices. It has a higher total combined energy can be delivered without the risk of epidermal damage. It offers enhanced targeting of treatment areas It is safer on darker skin types than IPL alone It can be used to treat lighter hair How does E light work? Skin is pre-cooled by the device hand piece. A low pulse of light energy is delivered which has been chosen based on individual patient parameters. The light warms, but does not destroy the target. The bipolar RF current is delivered whilst the light is pulsing. A patch test is required, to ensure that your skin type is suitable for this treatment We charge £30 for the skin test treatment, £15 of this fee is then deducted off your treatment total. A range of packages are available on request.
-
Aftercare InformationFollowing your treatment you should: Continue to use recovery/repairing cream/gel is recommended. Avoid any topical skin treatments on the treatment area. Keep the area clean and dry the area gently with a clean, lint free cloth. After treatment, there will be heat in the area and may be some swelling, redness, pin-point bleeding and white frosting. In some cases, edema and blistering can occur. This is a normal side effect of treatment and will settle within days.
-
Pre Treatment AdviceA patch test is required prior to any treatment commencing. There is a £30 charge for the patch test, £15 is then deducted from your treatment total. Why do I need to have a patch test prior to treatment? All patients are required to have a 24hr patch test prior to any of our laser treatments. This is so we can quickly identify if you have sensitive skin towards laser and to avoid any adverse reactions.

What is Tattoo Removal?Removal of tattoos or semi-permanent make up require the use of a specially designed laser to break down the inks of the tattoo. Q-Switched Lasers are considered to be the most effective, safe and reliable way to remove unwanted multi-coloured tattoos with consistent predictable results.
-
How does it work?Active Q-Switched Lasers generate a high powered beam of laser light in extremely short pulses. These very short pulse of high powered laser light is absorbed by the tattoo ink particles, breaking them down into smaller pieces. Once broken down, these inks are then dispersed of by the body's natural processes. The skin is cleaned and the laser applicator is passed over the tattoo releasing quick pulses of light. An audible ‘clicking’ noise is often heard as the ink particles shatter. After treatment, a soothing lotion and a light dressing may be applied. A gradual fading of the tattoo occurs over a series of treatments. Treatment time varies depending upon the size of the tattoo but generally it is between 10 – 30 minutes This depends on several factors, including the density and colour of inks and the age of the tattoo. Amateur tattoos can be quick to remove, taking 1 to 6 treatments, whereas professional tattoos vary considerably and some can take up to 15 treatments. Treatment sessions are spaced 6 to 10 weeks apart. During treatment protective eye wear will be provided.

Carbon Peel TreatmentA carbon laser facial is a revolutionary laser treatment that is completely painless with minimal-to-zero downtime. It is highly beneficial for people with oily skin, blackheads, enlarged pores, dull skin, and acne on the face. A layer of liquid carbon is applied to the skin, where it penetrates deep into the pores. The result is tighter, brighter skin that looks, feels and is completely refreshed. There’s virtually no pain so no numbing cream is required. The results are instantaneous and improve over the next 4-8 weeks as the skin undergoes rejuvenation. At the beginning of your treatment, the therapist will use an Alumier MD Purifying Gel Cleanser to remove any product, excess oils, or pollutants on your skin. What to expect when having a carbon peel treatment? We then apply the carbon paste is applied to the surface of the skin. we wait roughly 10mins to allow the outer dead cells of the epidermis to absorb the carbon. gently heats the water molecules in the cream, allowing the carbon to bond well to the skin and to the contents within the pores The laser machine is set specifically with the settings used at the patch test. Using a special tip the 1064nm wavelength of the laser will be absorbed by the Carbon which is vaporised by the short pulse Q-Switched laser breaking up the carbon into fine particles. The 1064nm wavelength is highly absorbed by the particles, thereby destroying the carbon and removing the dead skin cells, oils and impurities. The face is then cleaned and a broad spectrum spf is applied. Treatment has the immediate effect of a gentle laser peel. HIFUThe HIFU treatment will naturally kick-start your body to gently increase the levels of the collagen and elastin, helping to lift and tighten your skin. With HIFU, the ultrasound energy will target the deep structural layers of the skin with heat, tightening and lifting to reduce the signs of ageing and revealing a more youthful and refreshed look. The ultrasound energy stimulates collagen production at 3 layers within the skin from superficial to deep; this boosts elasticity, skin thickness and rejuvenates the complexion. HIFU uses a handheld device that is passed over the surface of the skin. Benefits can be seen almost immediately, with optimum results expected after 3-6 months. This treatment is suitable for all skin types and can be carried out on different areas of the body, including the face, eye area, neck and jawline. When the cells in our skin reach a certain temperature, they experience cellular damage. This is actually beneficial because it stimulates them produce more collagen which provides structure for healthy looking skin! *Results are best for patients over 30 with moderate skin laxity (skin firmness/structure). You will see the results build gradually over a period of time because HIFU treatment penetrates the skin from the inside-out (SMAS layer). What to expect when having a hifu treatment? At the beginning of your treatment, the therapist will use an Alumier MD Purifying Gel Cleanser to remove any product, excess oils, or pollutants on your skin. If you would like to see what ingredients the cleansers have please use the link below (https://www.alumiermd.co.uk/t/categories/cleansers) Once skin is cleansed your face will be marked with a white pencil to divided areas and mark out no go areas. ultrasound gel is applied prior to device being placed on skin.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) FacialPRP treatment, also called Dracula therapy and the vampire facelift, is a procedure that involves taking platelets from the patient's own blood and injecting them into problem areas of skin. Before the process, a small amount of blood is taken from the patient and spun in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the platelet plasma. The activated platelet plasma is next injected into the target area, where it tightens the skin and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Platelet plasma is a part of blood that is known to be very good at healing burns and other skin injuries. When the platelet plasma is put on the skin, the growth factors come out of the platelets. The growth factors stimulate other cells near the injection spot, which makes them grow and multiply. When platelet plasma is injected, it sends messages to other cells in the body to move quickly to the injection site. During the process, one of the cells that are activated is the fibroblast cell, which makes collagen. Collagen is what makes skin look and feel young. As you get older, your body makes less collagen, which makes wrinkles and fine lines in your face worse. This can be fixed with treatments like PRP therapy that help the body make more collagen. The process also stimulates pre-adipocyte cells, which can turn into fat cells and are especially important in the face for shaping and filling in wrinkles. Blood is made up of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Platelets are the cells that are in charge of making blood clot. When blood clots, the protein fibrin makes the tissues around it shrink. This is because platelets stick together to stop bleeding, which they do by sticking to each other. Micro-wounds made by a needle cause similar first reactions, and injecting active platelets makes the effect of contractions much stronger. The Practitioner can also separate mesenchymal stem cells and growth factors from activated platelets suspended in liquid plasma (PRP) in amounts that are set by genes. When this PRP extract is injected into the skin, the platelets form a bioactive fibrin clot that allows a number of active growth factors to be released. These growth factors help fix tissues, make new blood vessels, and make collagen. A course of 3 treatments is recommended, 4-6 weeks apart. Price £150 Duration 60 mins BOOK HERE

Fibroblast/Plasma skin tighteningFibroblast is an absolute revolutionary procedure which requires zero surgery. It is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that is designed to tighten and lift the skin, shrinking excess skin, crow’s feet, bags and wrinkles. It is known to be radical in wrinkle smoothing and eyelid tightening, reducing hooded eyelids. Fibroblast plasma is a new, highly effective, revolutionary, non-surgical lift treatment and is a remarkably lower-cost alternative to surgery for a number of issues. Tiny plasma flashes, also referred as an electrical arc, are discharged from the tip of the Fibroblast handpiece. The tool itself never touches the skin however plasma flash creates a tiny dot upon the point of contact. Points are applied creating a symmetrical grid over the treatment area. This innovative technology uses a sublimation process, turning solid directly to gas to tighten skin tissue. Targeted tissue sublimate, causing no damage to surrounding areas or deeper skin layers. What to expect when having a fibroblast treatment? At the beginning of your treatment, the therapist will use an Alumier MD Purifying Gel Cleanser to remove any product, excess oils, or pollutants on your skin. Emla numbing cream is applied to the area to ease any uncomfort this treatment can cause. Fibroblasts are responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of connective tissues. At the right distance from the skin, the energy ionizes the oxygen, combines with the nitrogen in the air, and creates a small electrical Plasma arc. Fibroblast treatment is performed with a device called a plasma pen, which is used to produce plasma waves. The waves are directed as tiny light spots along the wrinkle lines. The carbon crusts tend to fall off between 5 and 7 days. The dots serve as protection for the new skin during the healing process! Although you may see an immediate tightening and lifting effect of the skin after you have had your Fibroblast procedure, this is due to the sublimation process as well as some swelling that may occur. You can expect to see your final and best results at the 2-3 month mark once all the collagen production has kicked in. RF MicroneedlingRF microneedling is the same procedure as traditional microneedling, however with the added benefits of radiofrequency being distributed deep into the skin layers. The radiofrequency energy is only released when the needles reach the required destination of the skin, meaning any surrounded skin is completely protected. The RF technology heats the deeper layers of the skin, resulting in additional tightening of the skin, in addition to the natural encouragement of collagen and elastin production through traditional microneedling. Radio frequency microneedling enhances the results of conventional microneedling, producing more dramatic and quicker results.

MicroneedlingMicroneedling is a type of treatment that uses small needles to cause tiny punctures in the skin. These small contact points encourage the body to create a wound healing response and renew the skin cells. As your skin repairs, the production of collagen and elastin is triggered to give an almost immediate plumping effect. It can also help tackle other skin damage such as scarring, dark marks, sun damage, and aging. The Microneedling device has 12-36 microscopic needles, with depths of 0.25mm to 1.5mm, that oscillate fast, making navigation around small and contoured areas possible. This treatment targets: Regeneration and repair of the skin Improved product penetration and absorption Increased collagen and elastin production Aging skin Oily skin Rosacea Enlarged pores Reducing acne Scarring Fine lines and wrinkles Stretch marks Pigmentation and sun damage After the procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen, and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long-lasting enhancement What to expect when having a microneedling treatment? Advanced ElectrolysisAdvanced Electrolysis is used to remove or reduce a range of skin blemishes on the face and body such as skin tags, milia, blood spots, thread veins and spider veins. The treatment involves placing a very fine, sterile probe (needle) beside or into the blemish and applying a tiny amount of electric current. This generates a small amount of heat which ‘dries up’ the blood vessels that feed the blemish. This instantly removes or visibly reduces the size size and appearance of the skin lesion. This is a safe, effective and pain-free procedure that produces instant and excellent results. What to expect when having an advanced electrolysis treatment? An initial consultation is given before any treatment, this is to diagnose the blemish and fully explain the treatment. The area is cleaner and sterilised with before pictures taken. Our electrolysis uses a thermolysis current and a very fine needle to either cauterise or lift away the blemish. Depending on the blemish you are having treated we advise to allow two weeks after the treatment for swelling, redness and scabs/crusts to disappear, with results being more easily visible up to a month later. This can be discussed in detail at your consultation. •Thread Veins/Broken Capillaries •Milia •Skin Tags •Blood Spots
